Every now and again Andy decides to start acting like my parent rather than my husband. This latest annoying instance is regarding NZ's upcoming election (tomorrow). He thinks (and is quite annoyed about this uproven claim) that I am not taking my vote "seriously" and that I am "just voting for National because my dad is"
Because I love to prove people wrong ;) I made this up just for him...
Why I am not voting for...
Act:
- They block pro-life initiatives
- Rodney Hide is an idiot
- They support the fact that prostitution is legal
- They don't support a bill that would outlaw street soliciting
- He opposes the anti-smacking law
Green:
- They block pro-life initiatives
- They voted against parental notification of teenage abortions
- They support the fact that prostitution is legal
- They don't support a bill that would outlaw street soliciting
- A lot of their policies are dumb and way too OTT
- They will work with Labour to form a government thanks to stupid MMP, and therefore a vote for Green is a vote for Labour... NO THANKS!
Labour:
- They block pro-life initiatives
- They voted against parental notification of teenage abortions
- They support the fact that prostitution is legal
- They don't support a bill that would outlaw street soliciting
- Helen Clarke is an idiot
- They have been in government for NINE years and only this year gave us a tax cut of a whooping $10 a week. Thanks for NOTHING!
- They have done nothing to increase punishment for crime, they time and time again let people out on bail who then go and injure/murder/shoot someone.. A slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket is their answer to everything!
- HC has become way too cocky for my liking and thinks she is the shit (when really, she is just shit)
Maori:
- They voted against parental notification of teenage abortions
- They support the fact that prostitution is legal
- They don't support a bill that would outlaw street soliciting
- They will work with Labour to form a government thanks to stupid MMP, and therefore a vote for Maori is a vote for Labour... NO THANKS!
- After everything this country has been through with the Maoris crying "racism" they would NEVER get my vote in a million years anyway.
NZ First:
- Winston Peter's is a untrustworthy snake (donation saga anyone?!)
- He opposes the anti-smacking law
- It's pretty much a waste of a vote
Progressive:

- They don't support euthanasia
- It's pretty much a waste of a vote
United Future:
- They don't support euthanasia
- It's pretty much a waste of a vote
and therefore, why I am voting for National:
- They support pro-life initiatives
- It's time for a change!
- They will do something about the crime and punishment (OR LACK OF) system in NZ
- We WILL get a tax cut and it will be more than 10 freaking bucks after 9 years
- John Key is better looking than Helen Clarke
- He sounds like a man (probably because he is,unlike Helen who sounds like a man for some unknown reason)
- He cares about the middle class people, and not just the poor and the Maori
GO NATIONAL!!!!!!! I think if HC wins (god freaking forbid) I will seriously consider moving to Australia. Do the right thing, NZ!

You guys have a lot of parties! That is kind of neat to see. America gets so divided, Republican VS Democrat, it would be cool to see it spread around in more parties, with some actually agreeing on some issues. So who won the election??
That is a lot of parties, but I guess we have a lot too just none of the other parties have enough money to really get anywhere so you don't hear of them much. Sounds like your choice for "change" is a lot better than ours was LOL! And you know I hate that whole thing of helping the poor - seriously what about the people who do make money but still have to worry about getting good health insurance and surviving our bad times! You either gotta be dirt poor or mega rich to survive in this world, the working class takes it in the ass! We pay for everyone, who pays for us?!
Who won your election? ... I'll admit my dorkiness and thought "smacking" was maybe a slang term for something else. Lol! I googled it and realized that it's exactly what you said it was!
